espur（エスパー）：縦書き用電子書籍リーダー/eBook Reader for EPUB3(EPUB Enhancements for Japanese Text Layout)

A simple EPUB 3 reader, "espur" V0.8 trial version, is ready for use.

espur, based on WebKit rendering engine, enables Japanese text layouts such as vertical-writing, Ruby, line-break and page-spread, and conforms to EPUB 3.

*A formal version V1.0 is under development and is ready for business use and OEM.

espur（エスパー）は、WebKitを利用したシンプルなPC向けリーダー<試作版 v0.8>です。縦書き、ルビなどを含むIDPF EPUB3.0仕様を体験できます。

*正式版(v1.0)も開発中です。法人向け提供やOEM提供も行います。
*法人向けにEPUB3コンテンツの作成やコンサルも行います。

Instructions / 使い方

Download the latest espur and install it to your Windows PC.
If you double click either an EPUB 3 sample in your bookshelf or one you prepared, espur will be automatically loaded.
When espur starts, if you move a mouse cursor on the lower portion of the viewport, a control bar appears. You can press page forward, index, and/or font re-size buttons to read your eBooks as you like.
Also, You can use cursor keys.

最新版のespurをダウンロードしてWindows PCにインストールしてください。
EAST\espurBookshelfを起動し、本棚に内蔵しているサンプルをダブルクリックするか、自分で用意したコンテンツ（.epub）をダブルクリックするとリーダーが起動します。
マウスをリーダー画面の下部に移動させるとコントロールバーが表示されます。ページ送り、目次（インデックス表示）、文字の拡大縮小をして読書します。
キーボードの矢印キーだけでも読書可能です。

Known Issues / 既知の問題

[WebKit dependent issues]

Ruby position is not located properly if you re-size fonts.
A blank page will sometimes appear when invisible elements are located at the bottom of the HTML file.
Line-break is sometimes not appropriate.
MathML is not tested.

Characters are not aligned properly at the page-boundaries or line-boundaries.
CSS @import is not supported.
Index is not fully supported. Nesting will be broken and seen flat instead. An anchor based tag such as ‹a href="a.html#section2"› is not supported.
JavaScript is not tested. Interactive JavaScript is not supported.
Link is not supported.
Font faces are not supported.

【WebKitに依存する問題】

フォントの大きさを変えたときにルビ位置がずれます。
レンダリングによって、白紙ページが表示されることがあります。各HTMLの最後で、視覚的に何もなくても何か要素が存在し、結果的に白紙が表示されるという状態です。
行末が揃わない場合があります。
MathMLの表示は未検証です。

【v1.0にて対応予定の問題】*2011秋頃無償提供予定

ページ境界、行またがりで文字表示が乱れる場合があります。
CSSの@import等のサポートが未対応です。
目次は部分的なサポートです。階層化されていてもフラットにならべて表示します。‹a href="a.html#section2"›のようなアンカーを対象とした目次も未対応です。
Javascriptの動作は未検証です。インタラクティブなJavaScriptは未対応です。
リンク機能は無効です。
書体の変更は無効です。
